I would like to thank you for the effort and diligence that you exhibited as an Exercise Science major at Concordia University. I count it as a privilege to have had you as a student in Exercise Physiology as well as Nutrition for Human Performance. Your exemplary work in these courses is to be commended, however, I am most appreciative of the professional attitude that you displayed with regards to your chosen field of study. The enthusiasm for the profession that you displayed was contagious and I believe you served as a role model for many of your peers. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require a letter of reference. I would count that opportunity as an honor.

How do you write a referral for somebody who has changed your life? I’ve asked myself that question a lot over the past few days and what I decided to do is tell you about why and when I started training with Dan Eiden. When I met Dan I was 18 years old and completely out of shape and I knew I couldn’t do it on my own. I remember walking up to the counter at the gym and simply saying that I needed help. Within the next few days I started training with Dan. I can still remember the first day, it was October 21st 1998 and I weighed 262 lbs with over 30% bodyfat. At first I thought I couldn’t do it, that I was being pushed too hard, but with a little trust on my part towards Dan I found out how wrong I was. In my first month of strict training, proper nutrition, and doing cardio 3 to 5 times a week I had lost 25 lbs. I can’t describe to you how good of a feeling it was when I saw that scale in the 240’s. I had never expected such good results. As the weeks went by I became addicted to the gym and basically anything to do with weight training and nutrition. I found myself reading nutrition books and taking what I had learned from Dan and putting it to use everyday. I felt so good about myself. I was a new man! Dan continued to train me over the next 6 months. During this time not only did I continue to lose weight and feel better about myself but Dan and I became good friends. Dan was different than I expected. I figured I would get some complete meathead trainer who didn’t really care about me, not a man who made it his mission for me to succeed. Dan went above and beyond his job description as a personal trainer with me. He became my friend and brother. In less than 9 months Dan helped me lose over 85 lbs. and during this process also created a life long friendship that will follow him wherever he goes. Also any of your clients are more than welcome to call me as a reference.

Health and fitness knowledge is definitely not something I was born with. I’ve been on every fad diet and joined a health club at least 5 different times, paid for the membership, and stopped going after the first month. It wasn’t that I didn’t have the desire to have a nice body, I just simply never had the knowledge. When I joined the gym this time the membership came with a free consultation with a personal trainer. I never thought I would ever need one, but within 5 minutes of meeting Dan I knew I needed his knowledge of nutrition and exercise to achieve my goals. He taught me everything I needed to know to develop the dream body that I have always wanted. The results were wonderful. It didn’t take long with his help to reach my goals. I am a changed woman. Since I have trained with Dan I have been faithfully training my body 6 days a week for over a year now. It has become a habit, as normal as brushing your teeth or washing your face. I do not feel complete if I don’t workout. I owe my healthy new life to Dan. I guess you can say he changed my body forever.

I would like to take a moment to share some words about an individual that has made an impression on me in my life that I am also honored to call one of my best friends. I don’t know where I would be right now as far as physical fitness and bodybuilding is concerned if I had never met Dan, but I know it wouldn’t be where I am right now. I owe the knowledge and gains I have made in bodybuilding to Dan for taking the time to help a beginner that didn’t know a thing and giving him all the knowledge and skills he has acquired through his years of experience and education. Dan taught me so much about nutrition and weight training that I went from the guy who asked the bigger guys questions, to the guy that other people began asking questions about what to eat and what I do to stay in such good shape. I am honored to have Dan as my friend and would say that anyone able to utilize Dan’s knowledge and skills in physical fitness is a very lucky individual!

I would like to thank Dan Eiden for all of his help and guidance in preparing me for my first bodybuilding competition. Without Dan’s expertise on training and nutrition I would not have come in as ripped or as hard as I was. Because of his help I was able to win 2nd place in the 2001 NPC Western Regional Men’s Light-Heavy Weight class and qualify for nationals. Dan’s training and nutrition plan worked perfectly. I have not met another personal trainer who is as knowledgeable or passionate as Dan is about his profession. He is truly an authority in his field. I would highly recommend Dan for anyone who is looking to improve their physique regardless of whether they are a beginner or an advanced/elite athlete.

In October of 1994 I realized that I needed to make a change in my life. I weighed nearly 250 lbs. I had a 44-inch waist, a 20 neck and was wearing 46 long suits. I hired a personal trainer and lost 75 pounds. It took about 6 months to lose that weight and felt as though I was in the best shape of my life and to a degree I was, so I thought. What I didn’t know was that I had not built the muscular base I needed to keep the weight off. In fact, about a year ago I realized that I began putting a few lbs. back on. I added about 4 inches to my waist. I went from a 32 to a 36. I wasn’t happy, as all I saw was those 44-inch waist pants coming back. I began looking for a trainer who I could work with that knew what they were doing and not just some “muscle head” that was going to give me a training session along with a counseling session. I didn’t need a personal counselor or someone who would have me spend 20 minutes on the treadmill and lift for 20 minutes—I needed a sports nutrition and training expert. Someone who knew the right combination for me to take off those 4 extra inches that had crept back into my life. It took me 6 months to find the right person. That person was Dan Eiden. Dan has done everything a personal trainer should do. He has trained me how to work out properly and how to eat properly. He doesn’t just show up, and give you a bunch of exercises and send you on your way. He asks you what your goals are and he assists you in achieving your goal. He can’t make you eat right or even make you give 100%. That is up to you. If you follow his program and listen to his instruction there is no reason why you can’t succeed. He built the muscular base I needed to build muscle and burn body fat. He created a nutrition program for me that I followed for three months and lost my 4 extra inches on my waist. It was pretty simple. It really took the two of us to achieve the goal. Him pushing and instructing and me doing the follow through. The perfect Dan Eiden program. Workout three times per week with weights, cardio 3 times per week and eat a well-balanced nutrition program that meets goals to lose weight and get into shape. Pretty simple program if you want to work hard and stick to it. No question, Dan knows his business, enjoys his business and delivers results for his clients. He enjoys his work, which makes it enjoyable for his clients. He makes the work out go so fast and it is a great deal of fun too. It has been a great experience. I still work out with Dan three times per week. I schedule my workouts like I schedule an appointment with a client. I’ve been working out with Dan for almost a year. I feel and look the best in 30 years.

I am starting my life over. With Dan’s training and his encouragement. I was able to get into shape, not only physically but mentally. From the beginning, he was able to work around my limitations and add to my training. He was able to work with my diet and install new ideas to get past plateaus. I know that what he teaches works, and I looked forward to days that I trained with him. With the knowledge that Dan has given me, I ws able to continue my new life of staying healthy for the rest of my life. Thanks again to Dan Eiden.
